Women’s Tennis Hits The Road To Take On Alabama And South Alabama

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –
The Florida State women’s tennis team takes to the road this weekend, as they travel to the University of South Alabama on Saturday and the University of Alabama on Sunday. The Lady Seminoles are currently ranked 37th and boast a record 6-3. Alabama is ranked 24th and South Alabama is ranked 38th. Florida State has the edge in the all-time record against both Alabama and South Alabama.


The Lady Seminoles hold a record of 8-5 against South Alabama. Florida State’s last win came during the 1999 season when they defeated the Jaguars by a score of 5-1. South Alabama last defeated the Lady Seminoles in 1998, 8-1. The Lady Jaguars are currently ranked 38th and have a record of 3-5. The Lady Seminoles will go head-to-head with South Alabama on Saturday, February 23rd. The match is scheduled to be played in Mobile, Ala. at 4:00 p.m.


Florida State last defeated Alabama in 1991 by a score of 6-3. The Lady Seminoles lead the series with a record of 6-2 against Alabama. The last Florida State victory came in 1991, when the Seminoles defeated the Crimson Tide, 6-3. Alabama won last year’s contest, 4-3. The 24th ranked Crimson Tide currently has a record of 6-1. Florida State will travel north to Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Sunday, as they are scheduled to play the Crimson Tide of Alabama at 11:00 a.m.


The Lady Seminoles return home on March 1st as they host the Hurricanes of the University of Miami. The match is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
