TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –The Florida State women’s tennis hosts their only fall tournament, the FSU All-Conference Showdown, this weekend at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center.
“We are very excited to be hosting our last event of the fall at home,” said head coach Jennifer Hyde. “One of the things that is really important to our girls is our home record and home success. This is the one opportunity in the fall that we have to defend our home courts.”
The tournament is comprised of 11 schools from seven different conferences. The Garnet and Gold host Iowa and Wisconsin from the Big 10, USF and UCF from the American Athletic Conference, Troy and Middle Tennessee State from the Sunbelt, Furman and East Tennessee State from the Southern Conference, Western Kentucky from Conference USA and West Virginia from the Big 12.
“We have seven different conferences represented for the All-Conference Showdown,” said Hyde. “We have teams coming from all over the country and we are excited to host them for our second annual event. I am excited to have so many good teams coming for our second year and to keep the tradition of this tournament going.”
The FSU All-Conference Showdown will have five eight-person singles brackets and one 16 person singles bracket to go with three eight-person doubles brackets. There is a three match guarantee and all brackets will be played out to finish.
Matches will begin every day with doubles play at 9 a.m. followed by singles play.
