Feb. 11, 2000

AUBURN, Ala. – The Florida State Lady Seminoles arrived in Auburn,
Ala. Friday afternoon to begin preparation for their Saturday match with
the Tigers. Both teams will be looking to earn their third win of the
season. #19 Florida State is 2-0 on the year while #44 Auburn remains
undefeated at 2-0 entering Saturday’s showdown.

The Lady Seminoles have lost to two top-ranked opponents, #16
Vanderbilt and #2 Florida, but have beaten #36 Iowa on the road and Georgia
Southern at home. Auburn has yet to lose a point through their first two
matches and are in the middle of a seven-match homestand to start the 2000
season.

Last year, Florida State defeated Auburn 7-2 in Tallahassee. The
Lady Seminoles have won 11 of 12 meetings between the two schools with the
first meeting coming back in 1982.

Leading the way for the Lady Seminoles are sophomore Alida
Gallovits, junior Nanette Duxin and seniors Kia Asberg and Ali Weber.
Gallovits is currently ranked #32 in the country and Duxin leads FSU with
three dual match wins this season. Asberg captured the lone win for FSU at
No. 2 Florida on Wednesday, defeating the country’s 48th-ranked player.
Weber is a senior who continues to march up the charts in all-time singles
and doubles wins.

FSU will return home following Saturday’s match to play the
Jacksonville Dolphins on Friday, February 18th at 3:00 p.m.
