MOBILE, Ala. — The Florida State women’s tennis team travelled to
Mobile, Ala. this weekend for the annual Southern Regionals. Seven of the
eight team members made the trip, junior Christy Travis was injured and
unable to compete. Head Coach Lise Gregory continued to use the fall
tournament schedule to determine doubles partners and provide a young
Seminole squad with some experience.

FSU sophomores Marina Raic and Alida Gallovits each won two singles
matches in the tournament and then joined together to win two doubles
matches as well. Gallovits, who was seeded in the A Draw, advanced to the
round of 16 with a win against Georgia’s Christa Grey in the second round,

FAMU’s Nikki Goldthreate in the round of 16 to advance to the
quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals, Raic met Mississippi State’s Linda

cruised to a second set win, 6-1. Raic and Gallovits were not finished
