TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – With weather conditions less than ideal for tennis, the
Lady Seminoles perservered to a 5-1 victory over the University of
Illinois. Leading the way for the tribe was freshman No.1 player Alida
Gallovits.

Gallovits played steady tennis and beat the Fighting Illini’s No.1 player,
and nationally ranked, Simone Kung, 6-3, 7-5. Gallovits was backed up by
the exceptional play of her teammates. Ali Weber defeated the Midwest
Region’s 30th ranked player, Carla Rosenberg, 6-4, 7-5, and FSU’s No.2
player Nanette Duxin cruised to a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Stacy Schapiro.
The other two points for the Seminoles came from Kia Asberg and Jessica
Balbuena.

The Seminoles are now 2-0 on the season and play next at home against
Southern Mississippi on Saturday at 11:00 am.
