Women’s Tennis Travels To Georgia Tech For Yellow Jacket Invitational

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State women’s tennis team will be
competing in the Yellow Jacket Invitational, hosted at the Bill Moore Tennis
Center at Georgia Tech University. The tournament begins Friday, Oct. 20th
at 9:00 a.m., and will conclude on Sunday Oct. 22nd. The tournament will
consist of eight teams from around the southeast including: Florida State,
Georgia Tech, Clemson, Furman, Central Florida, Iowa, Rice, and Illinois.

Florida State junior Alida Gallovits is seeded No. 1 in Flight A Singles
and will receive a first round bye. Seminole freshman Christina Denny enters
the tournament after winning her flight in the Lady Seminole Fall Classic
three weeks ago in Tallahassee. Denny is also entered in Flight A Singles and
will face Eldina Fazlic of Illinois Friday morning. In Flight B Singles
competition senior Marina Raic receives a first round bye. The newest member
to the Lady Noles roster, Beth Lawrence, has entered the compeition this
weekend in Flight D Singles, where she also receives a first round bye.

In doubles competition Gallovits and Denny team together in Flight A
Doubles, where they will face the tandem of Morris and Wong from Georgia
Tech. Senior Natalie Carratala, and Lawrence are entered in Flight B Doubles
competition. The two face Georgia Tech’s Miller and Guthrie.
