Women’s Volleyball Set to Battle Georgia Tech, Clemson

Series vs. Georgia Tech: Florida State trails 3-11. The Lady Seminoles defeated the Yellow Jackets in Tallahassee last year, 15-12, 15-9, 9-15, 16-14.

Series vs. Clemson: The Lady Seminoles lead the series 12-7. In 1997, Florida State downed the Tigers 15-13, 14-16, 15-4, 15-13 in front of over 1,000 fans in Tully Gym.

    Thornton: Repeat Performance

  • Junior middle hitter Aisha Thornton posted 5.17 kills per game and a .583 hitting percentage last week at Duke and Wake Forest to garner Co-Player of the Week honors in the ACC for the second straight week. Since returning from injury, Thornton has recorded double-digit kills in 6 of 7 matches and a .488 hitting percentage. She was sidelined with an injured ankle when FSU traveled to Tech and Clemson in September. Opponents’ Battle
  • FSU’s weekend opponents battled Tuesday in Atlanta. Georgia Tech downed Clemson 13-15, 15-13, 15-3, 15-8 behind 23 kills from Maja Pachale. Alison Coday led CU with 15 kills.

  • Senior outside hitter Holly Schneider has continued her move up the Lady Seminole career totals charts throughout this season. She now ranks second all-time at FSU in digs (1,273); third in kill attempts (4,143); and fourth in kills (1,524) and service aces (152). In the Polls
  • After beginning the season at #24 and moving up to #19 in September, the Lady Seminoles slipped from the Top 25 of the AVCA/USA Today Coaches Poll following injury-plagued play in early October. Florida State, along with conference foes North Carolina, Clemson, and Virgnia, is currently among the teams receiving votes.
