Women’s Volleyball Sweeps Duke, 3-0

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Lady Seminole volleyball team swept conference foe
Duke 15-8, 15-7, 15-9 in front of 652 fans in Tully Gym tonight. The sweep
by Florida State (11-6, 2-2 in the ACC) was its first over Duke (6-8, 1-3)
since the Lady Seminoles joined the Atlantic Coast Conference in 1991.

“This is an exciting win for us,” said head coach Cecile Reynaud after
the match. “Winning with our different line-up tonight shows our depth
which will be critical for us this season.” Starters Aisha Thornton
(sprained ankle) and Jennifer Werrick (flu) were out of action for Florida

Three Lady Seminoles ended the night with double-doubles. LaToya
Washington led the FSU offense with 16 kills and added 13 digs. Holly
Schneider posted 12 kills and 12 digs. Setter Fiona Bolten added 12 digs
and 50 assists. In the middle, freshman Norisha Campbell continued to
impress with a career-high 12 kills and 3 blocks.

Florida State hits the road next weekend for visits to North Carolina
Friday at 7:00 and NC State Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
