TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- Florida State diver Landon Marzullo will compete for the opportunity to represent the United States at the FINA World Championships at the FINA World Championship Synchronized Diving Trials, May 12-15. The Seminole will have a home pool advantage with the Trials taking place in Tallahassee at the Morcom Aquatic Center.
“We’re really excited to be hosting this world class event,” FSU diving coach Patrick Jeffrey said. “I think Landon has an excellent chance since he is diving at his home pool and hopefully a lot of fans will come out and support him.”
The World Synchronized Championship Trials bring several Olympians and NCAA Champions to Tallahassee, Fla., to fight for spots on the international travel team headed to Shanghai, China. Marzullo will compete in the one-meter competition along with incoming freshman Ford McLiney.
In its brief history the Morcom Aquatic Center has hosted several big events. Last summer, the U.S. National Championships were held at the pool and in 2009 the pool played host to the World Championship team’s training.
Admission is open to the public and free, family day is Saturday, May 14, and all events start at 10 a.m. For more information call 644-7665 or visit Seminoles.com. For a complete schedule of events click here.
