TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Fresh off a series victory against North Carolina, No. 17 Florida State (15-9) will host Jacksonville (6-18) Tuesday evening at Dick Howser Stadium. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m. and will stream on ACC Network Extra.
Florida State leads the all-time series against the Dolphins, 128-39, including 81-12 in Tallahassee. Last year’s game was postponed in Jacksonville due to weather before the season was canceled due to COVID-19. It was the first time since 1992, and just the second year since the series began in 1964, that the two teams did not play.
Freshman Carson Montgomery will start for the Seminoles. He has started a pair of midweek games this season, striking out nine batters against both No. 5 Florida and UCF. Montgomery is still looking for his first win of the season.
The Dolphins were swept last weekend by Stetson, a team the Seminoles will host later this month.
FSU won the final two games against North Carolina to win the series. Shortstop Nander De Sedas hit a walk-off, two-run home run Saturday to beat the Tar Heels 4-2. On Sunday, pitcher Conor Grady tied a career-high with 7.0 innings pitched and set a season high with 10 strikeouts.
After Jacksonville, Florida State hits the road to face No. 7 Louisville this weekend. The series at Jim Patterson Stadium begins Friday at 6:00 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
