Dwayne Hultquist, Florida State Men’s Tennis Coach
Hultquist began his tennis career at Penn State where he was team captain and NCAA qualifier. This is his fifth season with the Seminoles who jumped 23 spots in the rankings during his first year and finished second in the ACC for 2003. Dwayne also coached Mat Cloer, who went on to become the 2003 ACC Player of the Year. He gained excellent experience serving eight seasons as an assistant coach for the University of Texas, who enjoyed eight top 10 finishes during his tenure. Hultquist has assisted in coaching nine All-American players.
Lise Gregory, Florida State Women’s Tennis Coach
An NCAA champion in doubles and seven-time All-American at the University of Miami, Gregory was also successful as a professional athlete on the WTA tour with a career-high ranking of 18th in doubles and 160th in singles. Gregory also claimed nine professional doubles titles and a quarterfinal finish at the Australian Open. Going into her ninth season as women’s head coach at FSU, Gregory has taken the Seminoles to an NCAA top 20 ranking and is the winningest women’s tennis coach in FSU history.
Ty Braswell, Florida State Asst. Men’s Tennis Coach
Braswell begins his fourth year as an assistant coach with the men’s team. Ty is no stranger to Seminole athletics. He was a four year standout for the Noles, leading the team from 1995 – 1999 at the one and two singles positions. Braswell was ranked as high as 60th in the nation and was the team MVP in 1997. Ty was ITA Regional Assistant Coach of the Year in 2003.
Brian Burdette, Florida State Asst. Women’s Tennis Coach
Before joining the FSU staff in 2000, Burdette was the head coach at Central Alabama Community College for three years. In each year of Burdette’s tenure at Central Alabama, he produced a top 25 finish for both the men’s and women’s teams with rankings as high as third and sixth respectively. In addition, Burdette’s coaching produced four players ranking in the top 25 nationally and two All-Americans.
2004 Florida State Tennis Camps
Session 1: June 6-10
Session 2: June 13-17
Session 3: June 20-24
The 2004 FSU Tennis Camps will be held at Scott Speicher Tennis Center. Coaches and members of FSU’s tennis teams will be instructors.
The rates will be $300/player per session for day campers and $445/player per session for over-night campers.
