A Fan’s Guide To Dick Howser Stadium

Feb. 12, 2003

The Florida State Department of Athletics would like to thank fans of Seminole baseball for their patience as Dick Howser Stadium goes through a two-year constuction process. Please use a heightened sense of caution at Howser Stadium this season. The project completion date is scheduled for January, 2004. Please remember Dick Howser Stadium is a non-smoking facility and this will be enforced.

Important Note: No large bags, coolers or outside food/drink will be allowed into Dick Howser Stadium. Fans bringing in purses or backpacks will be subject to search at both gates due to an increase in security.

There are two entrances to Dick Howser Stadium. The main entrance is located on Chieftan Way across from the circus. It is roughly where it has been in the past, but now has a brick building with a paved walkway through the construction site. Tickets can be purchased only at the main entrance and ticket will call (general public, player, staff and press) will be located here as well. Students can get into the game through the main entrance with their FSU ID. The information booth and program sales booth will be stationed at the main entrance as well.

The second way to get into Howser Stadium will be the north entrance, which is just to the left of the scoreboard down the third base line. Fans must have a ticket in hand to come through the north entrance. Gates at both entrances will open two hours prior to first pitch.

Fans with a handicap may enter Howser Stadium from both entrances. Shuttles will be available for fans that need assistance getting to the gate from the parking lot. The handicap parking lot is located behind the scoreboard at the south end of the soccer/softball lot and can only be accessed from Chieftan Way. Fans will be afforded entry on a first-come, first-park basis if they possess any state approved handicap decal/pass/sticker or an FSU baseball handicap pass. Patrons desiring an FSU handicap pass may contact Chuck Morris or Bernie Waxman at 850-644-4502 to obtain a pass. Proof of the handicap will be required to receive a pass. The handicap lift (to the second level) will be located behind home plate on the right field side.

General admission season tickets are still available and are just $50.00 for adults and $20.00 for youth (18 and under). Single game tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for youth. Fans may purchase bleacher season tickets by calling the Seminole ticket office at 1-888-FSU-NOLE or on the Florida State website at www.seminoles.com. Tickets may also be purchased the day of the game, should tickets still be available. Single game tickets go on sale the week of the upcoming game. Students get in with their FSU ID at the main entrance.

A full concessions menu will be available for the 2003 season. Like last year, concession stands will be open on the second level. In addition, there will be concessions available on the opposite side of the ticket office at the main entrance. Vendors will be set up in the open area on the right field side.

The first 1,000 fans to enter the gates will receive a Florida State baseball souvenir construction hat at Saturday’s (February 15th) game vs. Evansville. For more information, check the front page of www.seminoles.com and click on the upcoming events and promotions link.

The Jacksonville game on April 16th is now set for a 7:00 p.m. first pitch. Updated schedules will be available at the Information Booth or you may check the schedule at www.seminoles.com.
