Iowa City, Iowa- The Florida State diving team put on a show in the preliminary rounds of the U.S. Winter National Meet in Iowa City, Iowa. All 10 Seminole divers qualified for at least one event.

“We had some good performances and just to get 10 athletes in is exciting,” FSU diving coach Patrick Jeffrey said. “I can’t wait to see them get in there and get after it.”

On the women’s one-meter junior, Lisi Rowland grabbed one of the available qualifying slots placing sixth with a score of 222.15. Freshman Kelsey Goodman also qualified on the one-meter finishing 10th. On the men’s one-meter, senior Landon Marzullo and freshman Thomas Neubacher are pre-qualified for the next round. Marzullo is also pre-qualified on the three-meter and Neubacher on the platform. Marzullo made sure he would be competing on all three boards by qualifying sixth (310.45) on the platform. He’ll be joined on the platform by teammates Michael Neubacher who won the preliminary round with a score of 413.00 and sophomore Nick Klein who finished fifth (315.20). Senior Katherine Adham qualified sixth on the three-meter (252.00) while senior Jaq Horner and freshman Katrina Young qualified on the platform.

“Usually at this point I have to start sending kids home, but we’re all here still competing,” Jeffrey said. “It’s nice to have the whole team here competing for the national title. If we can get in the top three as a team that would be great.”

After a day off on Tuesday, the divers will return to the pool for the semifinal rounds of the men’s and women’s one-meter on Wednesday morning. The finals for both events will be Wednesday evening. For results log onto www.seminoles.com.
