Tallahassee, FL – After posting the highest team GPA of any men’s team at Florida State, the Seminoles were honored by the ITA with a team recognition and six individual honors as well. The six individual honorees are a program record and FSU has now earned 11 ITA Scholar-Athlete honors over the last two years.
The Seminole men’s tennis team earned the ITA Academic Team award. The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year (including fall 2018 and spring 2019). Overall, the FSU men’s tennis team posted a GPA of 3.34 in the spring, the top GPA for a men’s team in the department.
Sebastian Arcila, Rana-Roop Singh Bhullar, Maks Silagy, Bryn Nahrung, Chase Wood and Enzo Le Seguillon all earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors. This is the third time Wood and Le Seguillon have been named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and the second such honor for Arcila.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current\academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman through senior year).
