TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Three members of the Florida State indoor volleyball team have been selected for the U.S. Collegiate National Team Program which will be held in Minneapolis, Minn. from June 22-July 1.

The CNT program includes 36 of the top collegiate players in the country that will train and compete in conjunction with the USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championships. Katie Mosher, Sarah Wickstrom and Mercedes Vaughn are listed among the roster that is broken down into nine middle blockers, nine outside hitters, six opposites, six setters and six liberos.

Mara Green was designated as an alternate for the program.

Athlete selections for all three U.S. Collegiate National Teams were determined on evaluations of 246 athletes from the U.S. Women’s National Team open tryouts, which were held from Feb. 21.-23 in Colorado Springs, Colo.

“This gives us four players that will be competing this summer in National Team programs,” FSU head coach Chris Poole said. “I am very honored to have these great players on our team and it is such a great accomplishment to be picked among the best in the nation. This is a big commitment from these young ladies to take time out of their summer to go play more volleyball. I appreciate their dedication and commitment to work to achieve the highest level possible.”

Mosher, Wickstrom and Vaughn will go through the training portion of the event before being divided into three equal teams that will compete in a round-robin tournament from June 27-30. An international team is expected to be added to boost the field to four teams.

In addition to Mosher, Wickstorm and Vaughn, Nicole Walch was chosen for the U.S. Collegiate National Team that will compete on the China tour this summer (June 17-27).
