Marlon Dechausay, a native of Toronto, Canada, serves as academic counselor and technology coordinator for the Florida State Athletic Academic Support office. Dechausay joined the staff in August 2006 after serving as the Men’s Basketball Academic Coordinator at Iowa State University. Dechausay supervises the academic progress of Men’s Football – Defense. Dechausay’s responsibilities include monitoring academic eligibility, advisement and assisting in the recruitment of all prospective student-athletes, as well as, maintaining staff computers and a 32 station computer lab. Dechausay earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Louisiana Lafayette and a Master’s of Information Technology from Syracuse University. Dechausay is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A) and at the age of 16 was a member of the Canada’s National track and field team (200m, 400m).
