Florida State will play at Michigan State on Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. in a nationally televised game on ESPN as the complete schedule for the 2011 Big Ten/ACC Challenge was released by ESPN. The Seminoles, who are a pre-season top 25 pick as one of the nation’s top teams, will play one of the tournament’s highlighted games in prime time against the Spartans at the Breslin Center in East Lansing, Mich.

Florida State’s game against Michigan State is one of only four games in the challenge that is on ESPN; each of the remaining eight games will be televised on either ESPN2 or ESPNU.

The Seminoles lead the all-time series against the Spartans by a 1-0 margin as they took a 68-63 win on March 17, 1997 in Tallahassee. The Seminoles’ win over the Spartans came in the second round of the postseason NIT and helped Florida State advance to the finals of the tournament where it fell to the Michigan Wolverines in the championship game. The Seminoles’ game against the Spartans will be the first in school history played in the state of Michigan. In playing Michigan State in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, the Seminoles are playing their eighth different Big Ten opponent – the Seminoles are 2-1 in the history of the Challenge against Minnesota, 2-2 against Northwestern, 1-0 against Iowa, 1-0 against Purdue, 0-1 against Wisconsin and 0-2 against Ohio State. Florida State is 2-4 in ACC Big Ten Challenge road games with wins at Minnesota in 2004 and at Northwestern in 2001 and is 15-21 against Big Ten teams all-time.
