Adcock Leads Seminole Men’s Golf Team At Palmetto Intercollegiate

Bradley Ruch carded a 72 in the third and final round and finished in a tie for 35th place in the individual standings and the Seminole men’s golf team finished in 11th place in the team standings as the Palmetto Intercollegiate at the Palmetto Golf Club. Ruch led a trio of Seminoles with four-over par or better scores as the team played their best round of the 54-hole tournament.

The University of South Carolina, ranked 16th in Division I, won the team title with a two-day total of five-under-par 847, six shots ahead of South Carolina Aiken, the host school. The Gamecocks’ Eirik Johansen won the individual title.

Ruch (Louisville, Ken.) was very consistent during the two-day event. He finished with scores of 75 in the first and second rounds and finished with his team-best 72 in the third round. He beat teammate Matt Adcock by four strokes in the individual standings.

Adcock (Apopka, Fla.) also enjoyed a strong event and finished with a three-round total of 226 and finished in a tie for 45th in the individual standings. He carded a tournament-best 72 in the first round.

Junior Alan Beers played his best round of the event over the final 18 holes as he carded a three-over par 74. He finished just three strokes behind Adcock in the team standings.
