Baseball Series Finale Versus Appalachian State Cancelled Due To Weather

Feb. 27, 2005

Tallahassee, FL – Sunday’s series finale versus Appalachian State was supposed to be the final home game the 11th-ranked FSU baseball team would play over the next 17 days but you can make that 18 days now. Rain has forced Sunday’s game with the Mountaineers to be cancelled. The game, scheduled for 1:00 p.m., will not be made up.

The Seminoles conclude the week with a 4-0 mark including the team’s first two road wins of the season. The Seminoles hit .321 and the staff posted an ERA of 2.25 in the four games. Shane Robinson hit .500 in the four games and Gibbs Chapman led the Seminoles with six RBIs. Closer Tyler Chambliss was 1-0 with two saves and a 0.00 ERA.

The Seminoles return to action Friday, March 4 in Hawaii versus Hawaii Hilo. It will be the first of eight games scheduled during the team’s nine days in Hawaii. The game is slated for an 11:00 p.m. start locally. Game Tracker will be available for all the contests in Hawaii along with Steve Melewski’s live radio broadcasts available on WFLA locally and on the Internet at seminoles.com.

Due to the time difference, seminoles.com will be the only place to find game stories from the Hawaii trip as soon as the action ends on top of photo galleries both on and off the field. There is only one place to follow the Seminoles as they trek through Hawaii and that is the official website of the Florida State Department of Athletics.
