GAINESVILLE, Fla. (seminoles.com) — Florida State, which has won a school-record five consecutive games against Florida, travels to Gainesville to face the Gators in its second true road game of the season on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. The Seminoles’ five-game winning streak against the Gators began with a 65-63 win in Tallahassee on December 30, 2014. Florida State enters Sunday’s game in the Fresh from Florida Sunshine Showdown after losing its season-opener for only the second time in the Leonard Hamilton era at Florida State. Hamilton is 16-2 in season opener at Florida State after the Seminoles fell at Pitt, 63-61, at the Petersen Evens Center in Pittsburgh. Florida State opens its 2019 home schedule as it plays the first of four consecutive games at the Donald L. Tucker Center on Friday, November 15 against Western Carolina at 7:00 p.m.

FLORIDA STATE IS THE ONLY TEAM IN THE NATION
Florida State is the only Power Five team in the nation to start the 2018-19 season with two true road games against Power Five teams. The Seminoles opened their season at Pitt on Wednesday.

FLORIDA STATE NATIONALLY IN THE LAST TWO SEASONS
The Seminoles are one of seven teams in the nation (Florida State, Duke, Gonzaga, Kentucky, Michigan, Purdue and Texas Tech) who have advanced at least as far as the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament in both of the last two seasons. The Seminoles advanced to the Elite Eight in 2018 and to the Sweet 16 in 2019.

HAMILTON WITH 69 WINS OVER RANKED TEAMS
Florida State’s Leonard Hamilton enters Sunday’s game at No. 6/6 Florida with looking for his 70th career win over a nationally ranked team. He earned two wins over ranked teams at Oklahoma State, 17 at Miami and 50 at Florida State. He has earned four wins over No. 1 ranked teams: against No. 1 Oklahoma (February 4, 1989 while at Oklahoma State); against No. 1 Duke (March 1. 2006 while at Florida State); against No. 1 North Carolina (March 4, 2009 while at Florida State) and against No. 1 Duke (January 12, 2011 while at Florida State). Nearly 13 percent of Hamilton’s total of 534 wins have come against nationally ranked teams (69 of 534, .129 percent).

FLORIDA STATE WITH SIX VICTORIES OVER AP TOP 25 TEAMS IN 2018-19
Florida State enters its game against No. 6/6 Florida after defeating six nationally ranked opponents during the 2018-19 season. The Seminoles won a school-record seven games against nationally ranked opponents during the 2016-17 season and have defeated 50 nationally ranked opponents under head coach Leonard Hamilton.

HAMILTON BEGINS SEASON AS SEVENTH WINNINGEST COACH IN ACC HISTORY
With 334 career victories during his tenure at Florida State, 18th-year Head Coach Leonard Hamilton enters the Seminoles’ game at Florida on Sunday as the seventh all-time winningest coach in ACC history. He needs only 15 wins to move into sixth place in ACC history (passing Maryland’s Lefty Driesell) and only 16 wins to become just the sixth coach in the illustrious history of the nation’s best basketball conference to win 350 career ACC games.
