TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) Florida State, which has won 18 of its last 20 games including Saturday’s 74-63 win over Virginia Tech, plays host to North Carolina on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Center. The Seminoles’ game against the Tar Heels is their first of three appearances on ESPN’s Big Monday extravaganza; they will also play on Big Monday at Duke (February 10) and at home against Louisville (February 24). The Seminoles won their eighth ACC game of the season with their win against the Hokies on Saturday and are 8-2 in ACC play for just the second time since joining the conference for the 1991-92 season. The Seminoles began ACC play with a 10-2 record finished league played with at 12-4 in winning their first ACC Tournament championship in 2012. Florida State enters Monday’s game against North Carolina having won 17 consecutive home games in a streak that began with a 78-66 win over Clemson on January 22, 2019. During the streak at home, the Seminoles have won 11 consecutive ACC games. Following Monday’s game against North Carolina the Seminoles play host to Miami on Saturday at 12:00 noon before travelling to play at Duke next Monday at 7:00 p.m.

Sophomore guard Devin Vassell scored his career-high of 27 points on a perfect seven of seven shooting performance from the 3-point line in the Seminoles’ win over Virginia Tech on Saturday at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Va. His perfect shooting display tied the ACC and Florida State record for a 1.000 percent shooting percentage (minimum seven 3-point field goals made). In the ACC and Florida State record books he tied former Seminoles James Collins (seven of seven, 1.000 percent against USF on November 29, 1994) and Sam Cassell (seven of seven, 1.000 percent against Tulane on March 20, 1993) along with former NC State guard Allerik Freeman (seven of seven, 1.000 percent against North Carolina on January 27, 2018).
