TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) — Florida State, which has won 21 of its last 24 games, plays host to Pittsburgh on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Center in Tallahassee. The game is the second meeting this season between the two teams – the Panthers took a 63-61 victory over the Seminoles in the 2019-20 season opener for both teams at the Peterson Events Center on November 6, 2019. The Seminoles enter their game against Pitt fresh from an 80-77 victory over Syracuse on Saturday in Tallahassee – the 20th consecutive win for Florida State in the Donald L. Tucker Center. Florida State’s game against Pittsburgh marks the first time since February 18, 2018 that the Seminoles will play host to the Panthers because of the unbalanced 20-game ACC schedule. The Seminoles defeated the Panthers, 88-75, on February 18, 2018, the last time Pittsburgh ventured south to Tallahassee. In addition to winning 21 of their last 24 games since these two teams met, the Seminoles have won four of their last five and 14 of their last 16 overall games. Following Tuesday’s game against Pittsburgh, the Seminoles travel to play at NC State on February 22, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. in their first (and only) game of the regular season against the Wolfpack.
HAMILTON AMONG THE TOP-FIVE ALL-TIME WINNINGEST COACHES IN THE HISTORY OF THE ACC
With Florida State’s victory over Syracuse on Saturday in Tallahassee, Seminole Head Coach Leonard Hamilton moved into sole possession of fifth place as the all-time winningest coach in ACC history. Hamilton now has 355 career victories at the helm of the Seminole program – the fifth highest total in ACC history. He is also the fifth winningest coach in ACC games (ACC regular season and tournament games) with 166 all-time ACC wins.
