TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) — Florida State, which has won four of its last seven games, travels to play its only game of the season against Notre Dame on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018 at the Purcell Pavilion. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN2. The Seminoles game at Notre Dame marks their road game in their last four overall games. The Seminoles enter Saturday’s game at Notre Dame with six games remaining to be played in the regular season – three at home (Clemson, Pitt and Boston College) and three on the road (at Notre Dame, at NC State and at Clemson). Florida State has two ACC road wins on its resume (at Virginia Tech and at Louisville) and four overall road wins (at Rutgers in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge and at Florida when the Gators were ranked No. 5 nationally). After beginning their ACC season with a 1-3 record, the Seminoles have won five conference games with wins over Syracuse, at Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Miami and at Louisville. Following Saturday’s game at Notre Dame, the Seminoles will play host to Clemson on Wed., Feb 14, 2018 in the first of two meetings better the two teams.
HAMILTON GOES FOR 500TH CAREER VICTORY AGAINST NOTRE DAME
Florida State head coach Leonard Hamilton is pursuing his 500th career victory and his 300th at Florida State as the Seminoles travel to play at Notre Dame on Saturday. The NCAA recognizes Hamilton with 499 career wins – 299 at Florida State – following the vacation of 22 victories from the 2008-09 season. In terms of games won on the court, Hamilton has an overall record of 521-413 spanning 30 collegiate seasons and is 321-203 in his 16 seasons leading the Seminoles. Averaging 20 wins a season, he is Florida State’s all-time leader in victories.
ANGOLA ENTERS SATURDAY’S GAME AS SEMINOLES’ CAREER FREE THROW LEADER
Senior Braian Angola, who is shooting .900 from the free throw in 12 ACC games this season, enters Saturday’s game against Notre Dame as Florida State’s all-time leader with a .829 career free throw shooting percentage. He is shooting .958 percent from the free throw line (23 of 24) in the last five games.
SEMINOLES’ HAMILTON IN THE ACC’S TOP 10 FOR HOME AND ROAD WINS
Florida State head coach Leonard Hamilton, who ranks eight in ACC history for both overall wins (299) and ACC wins (133), enters Saturday’s game at Notre Dame as one of only seven coaches in ACC history ranked in the ACC’s top 10 for both home court and road victories. Hamilton has led the Seminoles to 79 home ACC wins (sixth in ACC history) and 43 true road ACC wins (ninth in ACC history).

FLORIDA STATE DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS HONORED AT NOTRE DAME ON SATURDAY
Stan Wilcox, the Director of Athletics at Florida State, will be honored Saturday at Notre Dame as the Irish celebrate their 1978 NCAA Final Four team. The team will be honored with a reception prior to the game and will be introduced at halftime of the game. Wilcox averaged 2.5 points and 2.9 rebounds as the Irish earned a 23-8 record during the 1977-78 season. Wilcox and the Irish defeated UCLA twice during the regular season and defeated Marquette when the Golden Eagles were ranked No. 1 that season. Notre Dame defeated Houston, Utah and DePaul to reach the Final Four before losing in the national semifinals to Duke. Wilcox is in his fifth year as Florida State’s Athletics Director.
