GULF SHORES, Ala. – On Friday, May 3rd, the Florida State beach volleyball team begins play in the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championship as the No. 3 seed. The Seminoles went 28-5 this season and earned their fourth straight CCSA title.

FSU opens play against the Cal Poly Mustangs on Friday at 12:00 pm CT (1 pm EST). Florida State leads the series against Cal Poly 2-0 including a 4-1 win at home earlier this season. The Seminoles will play a second match tomorrow, with the time depending on their first match result.

he Seminoles enter the NCAA Championship on a 12-match win streak and are one of just two programs in the nation (along with Pepperdine) to have played in every AVCA Championship (2012-15) and NCAA Championship (2016-18). Florida State is also the only program in the country to win four straight conference titles.

FSU saw 16 opponents ranked in the AVCA Top-10 this season and came away with 11 wins. The Seminoles did not lose to a team currently ranked lower than fourth in the polls and posted sweeps in 12 matches this season without being swept once. They earned sweeps in six of their last eight matches including a 3-0 sweep of LSU in the CCSA Championship match.
