Beach Heads To Jacksonville For Two Matches


TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The third-ranked Florida State beach volleyball team (10-1) is back on the road for a pair of matches in the North Florida Beach Volleyball Invite (March 7). The Seminoles take on both UNCW (11:30 am) and UNF (1 pm) in the one day event hosted at UNF.

Florida State enters the weekend a perfect 7-0 all-time against their two opponents, with a 4-0 record against UNCW (3-2) and a 3-0 record against UNF (1-3). All four times FSU and UNCW have met the matches have resulted in a 5-0 Florida State victory. The last time the two teams met was in the CCSA conference tournament in 2018.

The last time FSU and UNF met was in 2016. Florida State beat UNF 5-0 in their first two meetings and 3-2 in the last meeting. All three match-ups were on neutral sites.

The Seminoles head into the third week of the season still undefeated on courts one and four with an 11-0 record on each court. Senior Molly McBain and junior Alaina Chacon earned AVCA National Pair of the Week and CCSA Pair of the Week honors on Tuesday and Wednesday for their 4-0 performance a week ago. They outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 points per set on their way to beating three ranked teams on court one.
