TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Head Coach Brooke Niles and the Florida State Beach Volleyball team have announced their schedule for the upcoming 2022 season that is set to begin at the end of February.
Florida State is set to host two tournaments in Tallahassee. The Seminoles will compete in five weekends on the road, including tournaments at LSU, Stetson, TCU, North Florida and Cal Poly. The Noles will also play in Gulf Shores, the host of the NCAA Championship, as a part of the March to May tournament hosted by UAB.
Florida State enters the 2022 season having finished the 2021 season with a 33-6 record and ranked No. 5 in the country. The Seminoles reached the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in program history and are the only program in the country that has made every AVCA and NCAA Tournament since the inception of collegiate beach volleyball in 2012.
FSU opens the season at home as they welcome Cal Poly, TCU, Southern Miss, Tampa, UNF, UAB and FAU to Tallahassee on February 26-28.
The following weekend the Seminoles head west to compete in the TCU Horned Frog Challenge on March 4-5. The Noles take on Central Arkansas, Georgia State, South Carolina and TCU in Fort Worth, Texas.
FSU stays on the road for the next four weeks as they compete in the Stetson Tournament (March 12-13) and the March to May tournament (March 18-19) hosted by UAB and held at the Hangout on Gulf Shores. FSU went 3-0 during the March to May tournament last season with wins over No. 10 TCU, No. 11 Grand Canyon and No. 3 LSU. This season Florida State takes on Grand Canyon, UCLA, Tulane and UAB.
The Garnet and Gold head to Baton Rouge, Louisiana the next week to compete in the LSU Beach Invitational (March 26-27). Last season the Noles traveled to LSU and went 4-0 with wins over No.1 LSU, No. 11 FAU and No. 19 Georgia State. Florida State wraps up their road stand at the North Florida Invite hosted by UNF on April 1-2.
The Seminoles are back home for the final time during the 2022 season as they host the Unconquered Invitational (April 8-9). FSU welcomes LSU, TCU, FIU, Stetson and Texas A&M – Corpus Christi.
The regular season gets wrapped up the next weekend as FSU heads to Cal Poly to compete in the Center for Effort Challenge (April 14-15).
Florida State has the next week off before traveling to Huntsville, Alabama for the CCSA Tournament (April 28-30).
The NCAA Championship tournament will be from May 3-8 in Gulf Shores, Ala.
