Beach Wraps up Season at TCU

Match Notes

FORT WORTH, Texas. – The No. 3 Florida State beach volleyball team (20-5, 11-1 CCSA) heads to Texas this Friday to wrap up the regular season at the TCU Invitational. Florida State begins play on Friday, April 12th at 8:30 AM ET against UAB (11-8) before taking on Texas A&M – Corpus Christi (9-10) at 12:30 PM ET. The Seminoles wrap up play against tournament host and No. 18 TCU (17-9) at 6:45 PM ET.

Florida State and UAB met up earlier this season at FAU when the Seminole took down the Blazers 4-1 with wins on courts one through four. The Noles are 8-0 all-time against UAB with seven of the wins resulting in shutouts. Florida State is only playing with one pair that was together during their first match-up.

Florida State and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi have a brief history. The two have only met up once and that was in 2016 during this same tournament. The Noles swept the Islanders 5-0 with straight-set wins on all five courts.

The biggest test of the weekend will be the final test against No. 18 TCU. The two teams have met up five times, with all five wins going to the Garnet and Gold. Four of those FSU wins were shutouts. TCU has earned six wins this season over ranked opponents, three ranked wins in the last two weeks. TCU is coached by former FSU assistant coach Hector Gutierrez.

Last Time Out

Florida State hosted their final home tournament of the season. The Noles went 3-0 with 4-1 wins over No. 16 FAU, No. 8 FIU and NO. 17 Georgia State.
