O’Dell garnered FCSL Pitcher of the Week honors after firing nine innings of two-hit ball in his second start for the Belleview Bulldogs. The Kissimmee, Fla., native allowed just one run, unearned, and walked one while striking out 10 against Winter Park. O’Dell threw 116 pitches in earning a no decision leaving the ball game with the score tied 1-1. The Bulldogs would go on to defeat the Diamond Dogs 2-1 in 15 innings. The junior right hander has given up just one earned run in 17 innings of work en route to a 0.53 ERA this summer. He has 16 strikeouts while limiting opponents to a .151 batting average. The weekly honor is the second of O’Dell’s career in the FCSL.
Cardullo and Danesh joined O’Dell in earning Team of the Week accolades.
Cardullo hit .250 (5-for-20) on the week making all five starts at shortstop for the Sanford River Rats. The sophomore right hander collected three runs and three RBI with a stolen base and a double. In a 5-1 win over Clermont, Cardullo unloaded on his first home run of the season.
Danesh paced the Winter Park Diamond Dogs hitting .286 on the week with four hits in 14 at-bats. He knocked in three runs, scored twice and drew three walks. He recorded his first triple of the summer league leading Winter Park to a win over Orlando.
