TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State’s Dagny Brynjarsdottir is not only leading the Seminoles on the field but also in the classroom in 2014 as the senior captain was named to the Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District IV team.

For her efforts, Brynjarsdottir is now eligible for national Academic All-America honors which will be voted on later this month.

Majoring in sport management, Brynjarsdottir is a three-time ACC Academic Honor Roll honoree. She was named to the ACC All-Academic Team in 2013 and has been honored on the Dean’s List twice at Florida State.

Brynjarsdottir’s selection marks the fourth straight year Florida State has had at least one student-athlete represented on the Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District IV team.

The Icelandic native currently leads the Seminoles in points (29), goals (13), shots (61) and game-winning goals (4). Brynjarsdottir ranks in the top 10 in the ACC in seven offensive categories while leading in goals per game, points per game and shots in game. She has tallied four multi-point games on the year and tied a career-high with two goals twice. The midfielder has scored a goal in five straight matches.

Brynjarsdottir leads Florida State into this week’s ACC Women’s Soccer Championship as the No. 1 overall seed after the Seminoles finished the regular season with an overall record of 16-1-1.
