Dec. 6, 2000

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Norisha Campbell, a junior on the 2000 FSU women’s volleyball team was named to the 2000 AVCA East Region team, as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association on December 6, 2000. Campbell made the squad after closing out the 2000 season with a team-high .351 hitting percentage over the span of 124 games.

“We are very pleased to see that Norisha made the East Region team,” FSU head coach Dr. Cecile Reynaud said. “She had a great season and it is really great to see her earn this recognition.”

Campbell led the `Noles in the regular season in both kills (431) and hitting percentage (.351), averaging 3.59 kills per game and 0.94 blocks per game, both team leading statistics. She had her best match in the Lady `Noles second-to-last match of the regular season when she had 22 kills and hit .500 in the Garnet and Gold’s win over Georgia Tech. Campbell added double-digit kills in all but four matches this season (26). She had 20+ kills three times this season, including a season- and career-high 23-kill performance against Duke. Campbell also managed a career-best night against Jacksonville when she hit .789 with 16 kills. She earned ACC Player-of-the-Week honors earlier this season, as well as adding First Team All-ACC to her accolades. Her .351 season hitting percentage lands her eight all-time at Florida State in single season hitting percentage.
