TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Junior defender Gabby Carle was selected to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-East Region Academic Team on Monday.
Carle has a 4.0 GPA in Exercise Physiology and started in all 20 matches she played in on the backline of the Florida State defense. Carle registered four points during the 2019 season, coming off of one goal and two assists. Carle was a part of nine Florida State shutouts this season. Her best offensive performance came against Boston College when she recorded both a goal and an assist in FSU’s 5-4 win over the Eagles in their ACC opener.
Carle earns this honor after being named a CoSIDA Academic All-American earlier in 2019. She won the NCAA Elite 90 award a season ago for having the highest GPA amongst players to reach the 2018 College Cup.
