His upset victory over Pepperdine’s 22nd-ranked Bassam Beidas 7-6(5), 4-6, 7-6(2) at the No. 2 spot clinched the match for Florida State. Bowles was down 6-5 in the third set two points away from losing we he rallied back to send the match to a deciding tiebreaker. Bowles quickly went up 4-0 and cruised to a 7-2 tiebreaker victory that gave Florida State the match.
Bowles also paired up with teammate Jean-Yves Aubone as the No. 26 ranked duo in the country. The tandem knotted the doubles point in a tiebreaker against Pepperdine’s Andreas Begemann and Rikus De Villiers, defeating the Waves’ twosome 9-8 (5) at the top position.
