TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State head coach Bob Braman was named 2021 U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) South Region Women’s Coach of the Year. This award is voted on by USTFCCCA member coaches and honor coaches from each of the nine national regions.
This is the 19th USTFCCCA South Region Coach of the Year honor for Braman who guided the women’s track and field to a team title at the ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships with 110 points, claiming points in virtually every event.
It was the fifth ACC Outdoor Championship title for FSU and all five have come under the guidance of Braman. Of the five event champions for the Seminoles, the 4x100m relay ran a meet record time of 43.28 to bring home the first place crown.
Florida State had 23 entries for the NCAA DI East Preliminary round in Jacksonville, Fla. and punched nine through to Eugene.
FSU track & field is set to complete their season as the team heads to Eugene, Ore., for the 2021 NCAA Outdoor Championships. The men have a total of 12 event entries while the women have nine event entries. Competition is set to begin for the Noles on Wednesday, June 9 at 8:02 p.m. ET with the men’s 4x100m relay squad kicking off the action.
