NEW ORLEANS, La. – Florida State track and field senior Trey Cunningham remained on The Bowerman Watch List the USTFCCCA announced Thursday afternoon. Cunningham was named to the preseason watch list on Jan. 6 and is one of seven athletes who remained on the list. He is also the first Nole to appear on the list in three separate seasons (2020-22).
“It’s an honor to be the first because the level of talent FSU has had over the years is some of the best in track and field history,” Cunningham said. “We’ve already had one Bowerman winner and I’d like to be the next.”
Cunningham is coming off a phenomenal weekend at the Texas Tech Open. Cunningham broke the school record, facility record and the ACC record with a 7.46 time in the 60m hurdles. Cunningham’s time was the fourth-fastest time in collegiate history, and he earned ACC Men’s Track Performer of the Week honors on Tuesday for this past weekend’s performance.
