Tallahassee, FL – Sophomore Rafeeq Curry (Miami, FL/ACE Academy) was named ACC Outdoor Track and Field Performer of the Week, following one of his best intercollegiate performances. The three-time All-American tied the Florida State record in the triple jump, posting a mark of 54’6″. Curry’s mark tied a twelve-year school record set by Kelsey Nash at FSU’s first conference championships in 1992.

“His performance speaks for itself,” said first-year head coach Bob Braman. “He had an amazing jump – matching a long-standing FSU record, setting a personal best by almost a foot and finishing fourth in the nation in his event.”

Curry ran a leg of the 4x400m relay team that shaved two seconds off its NCAA regional qualifying time to 3:05.79.

The Seminoles return to action this weekend, hosting the Seminole Invite at the Mike Long Track Complex. High schools and colleges will converse in Tallahassee, beginning Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
