Get To Know Senior Aurora Davis

As the Florida State sand volleyball program prepares to begin its second season, Seminoles.com will highlight the personalities of the players in a weekly Q & A feature – “Diggin’ in Deep.” Our tenth and final “Diggin in Deep” participant is senior Aurora Davis.
What is something most people don’t know about you?
Well I’m a vegetarian and I use to have a skunk when I was little.
Do you have any phobias?
I don’t really care for frogs or spiders.
Name two things you consider yourself to be very good at.
Having a good attitude about things and acting crazy like cliff jumping and things.
What is something you wish you did better?
I wish I was better at speaking in public.
What is your favorite class at FSU?
One of my education classes. It was a lot of fun because we did a lot of group work.
Who had the biggest influence on your athletic career?
What do you think is your strongest athletic attribute?
I always believe that I can win even if I’m down by a lot.
If your life was made into a movie what would it be titled and who would by your character?
The Adventure of Aurora and I would play Aurora.
What would you say will be the strength of the team this season?
Probably how well we get along with each other.
What was your childhood nickname or nickname that you currently have?
Name something, other than volleyball, that you’re truly passionate about.
My family, relationships and being yourself.
Favorite song to dance to?
“The Bernie Lean” by ATM and IMD
Do you ever get mistaken for a celebrity? If so who?
I get told I look like Jennifer Aniston.
Why did you choose FSU?
I always loved Florida State. I grew up a Florida State fan and I always knew that they had a really good program.
What is your favorite thing about FSU?
The people here and the relationships that I’ve made here.
What is your earliest memory of playing volleyball?
Probably in elementary school, peppering with Jess (Jeassica McGregor) while our parent’s played.
The biggest difference of indoor and outdoor volleyball is sand of course, but can you tell me what are some other differences?
Well sand volleyball is played with two people instead of six and it’s pretty tough to play in the sand and you have to think about things like the wind. There are a lot of different strategies.
