Doherty Leads Seminoles Through 2nd Round Of Darius Rucker

Round 2 Team Leaders / Round 2 Individual Leaders / Round 3 Pairings

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – Senior Amanda Doherty is in a tie for 32nd place, and the Florida State Women’s Golf Team is in 14th place in the team standings heading into the final round of the Darius Rucker Invitational at the Long Cove Club.

“We were hoping to move up the leaderboard today and that didn’t happen” said Head Coach Amy Bond. “The wind and the course got the best of us. There is still a lot to play for. Tomorrow I look for us to make the adjustments and battle. The goal tomorrow is to finish strong and shoot the round of the day.

Kathleen Sumner carded two birdies on the front nine holes and one on hole 14. Similar to teammate Doherty, she, too, shot five over par for a score of 76 landing her in a tie for 40th place.

Leading the individual standings is Wake Forest’s Emilia Migliaccio who carded a score of 70 to move up the leaderboard nine spots.

Wake Forest is leading the field. The Demon Deacons shot 7 over par and carded a score of 288. This brings their total to 575 for the tournament. The UCLA Bruins are second and trail the leaders by five strokes heading into Sunday.

The tournament concludes with the final round on Sunday.
