Hall of Fame Class: 2016 (Men's Swim and Dive)

One of the finest athletes in the early history of intercollegiate athletics at Florida State University, Ernie Stock forged a hall of fame career in the pool for the Seminoles from 1953-56.

A native of Royal Oak, Michigan, Stock specialized in the breaststroke and lettered all four years at Florida State.

He earned All-America honors in the 100-yard butterfly placing fourth nationally at the NCAA Championships in 1954, and set six schools records over his outstanding career.

Stock was one of the pioneers of men’s intercollegiate athletics at FSU which began in 1946 following the change from Florida State College for Women (FSCW) to the co-educational Florida State University following World War II.
