Every Student-Athlete Has A Story

Whenever our nation has faced tough times, so many of us have been brought together by our love of sports, the athletes and the games. Right now is a tough time, and unfortunately, we don’t have the opportunity to spend a few hours a day watching the teams and athletes we love. We don’t have those weekend events to look forward to. We don’t have the joy of Seminole victories to lift our spirits.

Every Student-Athlete Has A Story

For our student-athletes, this is a trying time as well. They are off-campus, learning remotely and, for the first time in many of their lives, not able to participate in athletics. They are away from their coaches and teammates and figuring out life without athletic competition for the foreseeable future.

Here at FSU, we are missing the student-athletes in our own way. We miss watching them practice and compete, but we miss the people off the field even more. One of the real joys of our careers is getting to know the incredible people under the helmets and in the uniforms. We have the privilege of working with them in so many areas that extend far beyond the playing fields. They are the reason we come to the Moore Center each day.

Every Student-Athlete Has A Story

During this period when the stadiums are quiet and the practice fields empty, we wanted to take the opportunity to tell the stories of our student-athletes. Some of them you may know better than others, but they all have stories to tell and they all shine in so many areas.

Every Tuesday and Thursday, we will focus our digital and social platforms on one of our Seminoles. We will feature their story on Seminoles.com and give you the opportunity to ask them questions via Instagram Q&As. We will start the series with Jaiden Lars-Woodbey on March 26 and continue with Kiah Gillespie the following Tuesday, March 31. This series will feature athletes from all sports, all classes and will cover lots of topics.

It is our hope that Seminole fans will enjoy reading and learning about our student-athletes and embrace the opportunity to ask them questions. We are all OneTribe and at this point in our lives, we all need one another more than ever. Enjoy this special series.
