Florida State Baseball’s Eddy Martinez-Esteve Named ACC Player of the Week

Greensboro, N.C. – Florida State’s Eddy Martinez-Esteve was selected as the ACC Co-Player of the Week along with UNC’s Marshall Hubbard while Andrew Dobies of Virginia was named ACC Pitcher of the Week. Martinez-Esteve continued on his seven-game hitting streak and his hitting .525 in his last 15 games with a .949 slugging percentage.

Martinez-Esteve went 9-for-12 from the plate to lead all Florida State hitters with a .750 batting average in three games against North Carolina. The sophomore outfielder belted three home runs and a double to post a 1.583 slugging percentage for the weekend. Martinez-Esteve also collected four RBIs and four runs scored, while registering three walks (two intentional) for an on-base percentage of .800. The Miami, Fla., native raised his season average to .427 and currently leads the Seminoles with 10 home runs and 37 RBIs.

FSU will travel to Gainesville on Wednesday, March 31st to take the on in-state rival Florida Gators. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m. The Seminoles return home this weekend against NC State.
