Florida State Basketball COVID 19 Policies & Procedures

We are so pleased to be able to welcome donors and fans into the Tucker Center for basketball games this season.  Just five schools in the ACC are allowing in-person attendance, and we are grateful for the combined efforts of Seminole Athletics and Boosters, university administration and the staff at the Tucker Center in making this happen.

The health and well-being of the participating teams, our patrons and staff will always be our top priorities.  Tucker Center staff will work in compliance with local, state, and national governmental guidelines to operate the venue with up-to-date health and safety procedures.

We have limited seating to just under 25% of capacity this season and all seats sold will be socially distanced from one another and the court.  Patrons are required to sit only in their assigned seats.  All tickets will be mobile or print-at-home delivery.

Please see the policies and procedures listed below which will be in effect when you attend an FSU basketball game this season.

  • Overview:
    • All patrons will be required to wear a face mask while in the venue unless actively drinking or eating.
    • The venue will follow social distancing protocols.
    • All assigned seats are distanced in accordance with CDC protocols and fans must sit in assigned seats.  Even the team bench areas and scorer’s table will be socially distanced this season.
    • The ACC requires that all schools restrict fans and non-essential personnel from coming within a 15 to 18 foot perimeter of the playing court.  To accommodate the mandate, we have reconfigured some seating areas around the perimeter of the court and some rows of lower-level seating will remain unoccupied.  A plexiglass separation behind the team benches on the east side of the arena will also be installed in order to satisfy ACC safety criteria.
    • We encourage patrons to utilize card transactions for all purchases to limit contact.
    • Additional entrances and exits will be open in the Tucker Center to maintain social distancing protocols.
    • Signage has been posted to remind guests and staff to remain socially distant, wear face coverings, and practice good hygiene.
    • As with previous years, a clear bag policy will be in effect and patrons will be required to enter through metal detectors.
  • Working Personnel:
    • All working personnel are required to wear face masks while in the venue.
    • All staff must pass temperature screening and health questions before entry into the venue. Patrons are not required to go through the temperature screening but are advised to not attend events if they have been exposed to or show symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Cleaning:
    • Hand sanitizer stations are located throughout the venue for patron and staff use.
    • The Tucker Center has upgraded the rating of the air filters throughout the venue from MERV 8 to MERV 13.
    • Increased cleaning and sanitization of all high-touch and high-contact areas will be implemented during events in the venue.
    • Electrostatic sprayers will be used to disinfect prior to each event in the Tucker Center.
  • Parking
    • Tipoff Club and Seminole Booster members with parking pass benefits for Florida State Men’s Basketball season will receive their parking pass electronically via a printable PDF three (3) days prior to each home game. Please print each game’s pass prior to your arrival and display the pass to the parking attendant at the checkpoints and lot entrance.

The Tucker Center staff have taken enhanced health and safety measures to protect the venue guests.  However, there is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the CDC, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.  By entering the venue, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and the Tucker Center disclaims any and all liability related thereto.

In accordance with the guidance and recommendations set forth by the CDC and local health officials, we respectfully request that the following guests stay home:

  • Guests who are feeling sick or experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms (including fever, cough and shortness of breath);
  • Guests who have been diagnosed with, or believe to have contracted, COVID-19, unless you have had no fever for 72 hours (without use of medicine) and 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared;
  • Guests who have been in contact with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19 within the past 14 days; and
  • Guests who have traveled internationally in the past 14 days.

Thank you for your support and for doing your part to Stop the Spread!

We can’t wait to watch Seminole Basketball!
