Florida State Victories Over Florida Highlight This Week’s Gridiron Classic on Sunhine Network

July 8, 2004

One of the fiercest gridiron rivalries in the state is the focus of Sunshine’s continuing summer series SUNSHINE GRIDIRON CLASSICS. All eyes in Florida are focused on Tallahassee or Gainesville whenever the Florida State Seminoles and Florida Gators meet in their annual battle, and this Saturday Sunshine airs three games from that rivalry that saw the Seminoles emerge victorious.

Each game is highlighted by recently conducted interviews with former Seminole greats Chris Weinke, Derrick Brooks and Keith Jones, plus current Seminole players Chris Rix, Travis Johnson and Craphonso Thorpe, who discuss their thoughts and feelings towards the Gators, and about playing in one of college football’s biggest games.

For this Saturday’s GRIDIRON CLASSICS, host Paul Kennedy sets the stage for each game of “FSU Over Florida Saturday,” featuring three games from the Florida State/Florida series, highlighted by the 2003 last-second win in Gainesville and a game from Chris Weinke’s Heisman-winning season of 2000.
