The Florida State University Women’s Basketball Team is teaming up with Jay Long to present the 11th Annual Holiday Snow Festival on Sunday, Dec. 7, from 4-8 p.m. The event will be held at the Tucker Center on the campus of Florida State University after the rivalry matchup at 2 p.m. when the Seminoles host the Gators inside the arena.
The highlight of the evening will be the 50 TONS (100,000 pounds) of snow shipped in and blown onto the grass area located next to the arena. Other activities will include: horse-drawn carriage rides, cider/hot cocoa, holiday music, Florida State Cheerleaders, a balloon artists and even a visit from Santa Claus himself!
The event is FREE and open to the public. All fans who donate an unwrapped holiday gift will receive FREE admission into the Women’s Basketball game at 2 p.m. The Seminoles host the Gators inside the Tucker Center and fans are encouraged to arrive early to drop off their holiday gifts, come inside to cheer on the Noles and enjoy the Snow Festival post-game!
All unwrapped holiday gifts will be donated to The Florida Baptist Children’s Home, a Florida based non-profit that has been serving abused, neglected and orphaned children since 1904. The event is organized annually in hopes of providing gifts to those who would not otherwise receive any this holiday season, while creating a fun and unique experience for Tallahassee families that may not have an opportunity to see snow.
