The Florida State Women’s Golf Team will appear on CBS Television during the airing of the The NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Golf Highlight Show Saturday, June 26, 2004, from 5:00-6:00 p.m. ET.
The Women’s Golf Team finished the 2004 season with a Top-20 national ranking for the second consecutive season. The Lady Seminoles finished tied for 19th at the NCAA Championship at Grand National Golf Course in Opelika, Ala. Senior Carrie Sordel was the top Seminole finisher tied for 38th with a 72-hole score of 1,198. Freshman Jaclyn Burch had a career-low 72 in the fourth and final rounds to help FSU finish in the top 20.
The Seminoles finished tied for 19th also at the 2003 National Championship.
The Seminoles finished fourth at the 2004 Division I Golf Championships on May 6-8, 2004, behind Duke, UNLV and UNC with a score of 904. Florida State’s Carrie Sordel finished on the leader board with a tied ninth place finish shooting a 6 over-par score of 222.
