Oct. 17, 2001

The No. 21 Florida State Seminoles (3-2, 2-1 ACC) held their final full practice for Saturday’s game with Virginia (3-3, 2-2 ACC). The Seminoles worked out for approximately two hours as they finalized game plans for the Cavaliers.

“I thought we have had a pretty good week of practice,” said head coach Bobby Bowden. “We just need to get back out there and play a game again, see if we can get back on track.”

Florida State has won five straight over Virginia, dating back a 1995 Thursday night loss in Charlottesville. Virginia fell to 3-3 after losing 30-24 to North Carolina on Saturday.

“Chance Gwaltney and Chris Hall are still battling out the punting job this week,” said Bowden. “We’ll have to make a decision on Thursday on who will go for us on Saturday.”

The nationally televised game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on ESPN at Scott Stadium.

No new injuries were reported after today’s practice
