CoSIDA All-District Honorees in PDF Format

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – CoSIDA, in conjunction with ESPN the Magazine, announced the Academic District III winners of the University Division on Thursday, October 29. Florida State placed four student-athletes on this year’s District III team to lead all schools. Representing the Seminoles on the All-District III team are Becky Edwards, Tori Huster, Erin McNulty and Marissa Kazbour.

Edwards earned first team honors, while Huster was named to the second team. McNulty and Kazbour were recognized on the third team. All four student-athletes have played an integral role in the success of the Seminoles in 2009 leading the team to a regular season record of 13-3-1 and a 6-2-1 mark in the ACC.

Edwards has started every game for FSU in 2009 and is in the midst of a career season in her final year with the Seminoles. The senior midfielder/defender ranks third on the team in points with 15 tallying five goals and five assists. Edwards, who is majoring in marketing, is a five-time member of the Dean’s List at Florida State, while earning President’s List honors following the fall 2008 semester for posting a 4.0 GPA. The Downingtown, Pa., native is a three-time member of both the All-ACC Academic Team and ACC Academic Honor Roll. This marks the third time Edwards has been named to the Academic All-District team and second time as a member of the first team (2007).

As a first team honoree, Edwards will now be in the running for national Academic All-America honors which will be voted on later this year.

Huster has also started all 17 games for FSU in 2009. The sophomore midfielder has 11 points on four goals and three assists and has accumulated over 1,100 minutes on the pitch in her second season with the Garnet and Gold. Huster earned President’s List honors (4.0 GPA) and was a member of the Dean’s List following her freshman campaign. The Cincinnati, Ohio, native was also named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll as a freshman. Huster is pursuing a major in exercise science.

Kazbour has tallied four points in her junior campaign on a goal and two assists. The Valrico, Fla., has appeared in 16 games with six starts to her credit. She scored the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over Maryland back on September 24. Kazbour is a three-time member of the Dean’s List at Florida State and is a two-time member of both the All-ACC Academic Team and ACC Academic Honor Roll. The junior midfielder, who is majoring in sport management, was a third team CoSIDA Academic All-District III honoree in 2008.

McNulty has started every game for the Seminoles between the posts recording 38 saves and a 0.81 GAA in 2009. The redshirt sophomore has three shutouts this season in over 1,400 minutes of action. McNulty, who is majoring in business management, was named to the President’s List (4.0 GPA) following the fall 2008 semester and earned Dean’s List honors in the fall of 2007. She is a two-time ACC Academic Honor Roll honoree and was recognized on the All-ACC Academic Team in 2007.
