Four Seminoles Named to Volleyball All-ACC Academic Team

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Florida State Volleyball student-athletes Morgan Chacon, Emma Clothier, Emery Dupes and Audrey Koenig were recognized on Tuesday as part of the 2021 Volleyball All-ACC Academic Team.

The total of four Seminoles is the most FSU has landed on the Volleyball All-ACC Academic Team since they also had four in 2016.

Clothier, a junior middle blocker and Public Health major, earns her third honor in three seasons of work. The Carrollton, Texas, native became the seventh Seminole ever to earn multiple All-America honors after getting selected to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America list this season.

Four Seminoles Named to Volleyball All-ACC Academic Team

Clothier led FSU in several categories as the Seminoles reached the NCAA Second Round. They include total kills (287), kills per set (2.66), hitting percentage (.328), service aces (32), solo blocks (16 – tied for first) and total points (373.0).

Chacon made the team for the second straight season and is currently in graduate school to complete her Master’s Degree in Social and Sustainable Entrepreneurship. The redshirt junior outside hitter from Crown Point, Ind., made the All-ACC Second Team for the second straight year.

Chacon currently ranks in the Top 25 all-time at FSU in service percentage (.910; 22nd), digs per set (2.92; 16th), points (800.00, 25th), points per set (3.02; 18th) and double-doubles (22; T21st).

Dupes, a freshman libero from Marietta, Ga., earns her first selection to the academic team in her first season as a Seminole. The talented back-row performer had a superb freshman year with FSU, becoming the first Seminole libero to be named to the All-ACC Freshman Team.

Her 419 digs this past season made her the 12th Seminole with 400 digs in a season. Her 3.88 digs per set are the most by a true freshman at FSU. Dupes is an exploratory major.

Koenig, a freshman outside hitter from Wesley Chapel, Fla., had the most kills by a true freshman at FSU since 2006 when she registered 262 kills. She earns her first nod to the academic team as well.

In her first season with FSU, Koenig averaged 2.50 kills per set and recorded a .209 hitting percentage. Her 798 total attacks only trailed Chacon’s 851. Koenig is in Pre-Biology.
