FSU Heads Back To Virginia

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Another weekend, another trip to Blacksburg, Va.

Seven days after a great showing in the indoor-season opener, the nationally-ranked Florida State track teams are back on the campus of Virginia Tech for the Hokie Invitational at the Rector Fieldhouse.

All the action gets started on Friday at 4 p.m. and continues on Saturday at 10 a.m.

For the ’Noles, Kevin Williams and Brandon Byram will compete in the 300-meter run while Kemar Hyman and David Ambler put their skills to the test in the 60-meter run.

Hyman and Ambler, as well as Maurice Mitchell, will also take part in the 200-meter run. Maxwell Hyman and Andrew Jacobs will run in the 400m. Newcomers Daniel Salgado and Tremaine Grant will round out the men’s field by running in the 60-mter hurdles.

As for the women, Amy Harris will participate in the long jump and Michelle Jenije will take part in the triple jump.

Both Callie Giffin and Lauren Giffin will compete in the pole vault while Danielle Williams will go in the high jump.

In addition to the Seminoles and host Hokies, 18 other teams are set to participate, including ACC rivals Clemson, Duke, NC State, Virginia and Wake Forest.
