Tallahassee, FL –
For the second year in a row, the Florida State men’s basketball media guide has been named second-best in the nation by the College Sports Information Director’s of America (CoSIDA). The Florida State media guide is the only publication in the country to rank in the top two in both the 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 seasons. The guide beat out over 100 national submissions and was also named the best publication in District 3 finishing ahead of both Wake Forest and Duke and beating out 14 other entries for the top spot.
Four of the nation’s top seven men’s basketball media guides were from thew Atlantic Coast Conference and NC State’s guide garnered honors for best cover in the nation. No other conference even placed two of their guides in the top seven.
Monday’s award from CoSIDA continues the recent success of the FSU Sports Information Office when it comes to publications. In the fall, the FSU women’s soccer media guide was named fourth-best in America. Last year the 2002 FSU softball media and the 2001-2002 men’s basketball guide were rated second best in the nation while the 2001-2002 women’s basketball guide placed fourth in the nation. Florida State publications have now placed in the top four in the nation in four straight semesters (winter 2001-2002, spring 2002, fall 2002 and winter 2002-2003).
