TALLAHASSEE, FL. – The Florida State men’s tennis team defeated NC State on the road Saturday afternoon by a score of 5-2. With the win the Seminoles move to 6-6 overall on the season and 2-0 in the ACC.
The Seminoles came back in the singles portion of the match after dropping the doubles point to the Wolfpack. Rodrigo Laub at the No. 6 position led the way for Florida State with a straight set win over NC State’s Ryan Boward, 6-3, 6-2.
The matches at the top four positions all went to three sets with the Seminoles coming out on top. FSU’s Jeff Scarella improved his winning streak to seven with a victory at the No. 4 position while Xavier Luscan at No. 1, Gustav Bucht at No. 2 and Romain Jurd at No. 3 singles collected the other three points for the Seminoles.
Next up for Florida State is a match against ACC opponent Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Monday March 12th at 1 p.m.
